Charlotte News 14 Television featured Holden Beach and Mayor Alan Holden on their Thursday programing. The video is available for viewing on their website (click here) .
The story was entitled “Oil spill sends some Florida beach goers to North Carolina“. Holden Beach Mayor, Alan Holden said he spoke with at least a dozen people interested in renting homes through his rental company Alan Holden Vacations. “They’ve never been here before,” Holden said. “They’ve been going to the Gulf Coast. They were concerned about their reservations that were already in place. And they were about to make reservations.”
Also featured was The Winds Resort Beach Club showing footage of the oceanfront pool, some of the guests and star reservationist Beth Turner!
Neither The Winds nor Holden Beach has actively tried to lure people away from other beaches due to the tragic oil spill.
However, they are, we’re sure, thrilled to be featured in the Charlotte News 14 Television story.
Our hearts go out to all of those effected (humans, animal and plant life) and pray the spill is curtailed soon!
