I'm staying on the north of Grenada at the moment where Levera Beach is another major nesting site for the Leatherback turtle. It is such a privilege to go and watch these immense creatures climb out of the water, where they are able to swim at such extreme speeds they can out swim their worst predators ... and they suddenly become slow, deliberate and cumbersome. The laying season here is mid March til mid September, although people usually come between April and August to watch this annual extraordinary event. I was amazed to learn that for every 1000 eggs, only one turtle is expected to reach adult maturity. There is only one hotel on this side of the island, a 15 minute drive from Levera Beach. They are Petite Anse Hotel owned and run by Philip and Annie Clift : http://www.petiteanse.com. I still receive emails from the audience telling me how they look forward to hearing us this summer when they are back on the Carolina Coast. I have directed them to my site to listen to our music with hopes that we will return this summer to these wonderful concerts.
